Participation is free of charge, and completed learning pathways leads to a digitally verifiable micro-credential.

What Pilot 1 reveals about micro-credentials in practice

Results from the first MCEU pilot show strong engagement with flexible online learning among hospitality professionals across multiple countries. However, course completion alone does not guarantee recognition or real-world impact. The findings highlight the need for clearer communication, stronger labour-market relevance, and credible credential systems to ensure that micro-credentials translate into visible skills, trusted signals, and meaningful career opportunities.
