MCEU Roundtable: From Pilot Results to Labour Market Impact
On 21 September 2026, the next MCEU Hospitality Roundtable will bring together project partners, hospitality stakeholders and VET experts to explore the role and future value of micro-credentials in the hospitality sector.
The hybrid event is hosted and organised by IÐAN Education Centre, SAF – The Icelandic Travel Industry Association and Sant Pol Hospitality & Culinary Business School.
The session, taking place in Sant Pol de Mar, Barcelona, will focus on the next step for micro-credentials: moving from pilot activities and digital credentials towards wider recognition and labour-market impact.
From pilot results to wider adoption
With Pilot 2 now completed, the Roundtable provides an opportunity to reflect on what has been learned through the MCEU project and what is needed to strengthen the value of micro-credentials for learners, employers and the wider labour market.
The discussion will address questions including:
– What have we learned from the MCEU pilots?
– What still prevents wider employer recognition?
– What is needed to move from successful pilots to wider adoption?
– How can micro-credentials better support labour-market needs?
From MCEU findings to a European perspective
The programme will also include a keynote by Anastasia Pouliou from Cedefop on micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability from a European perspective.
This will be followed by a roundtable discussion focusing on recognition, relevance, quality assurance and employer value in hospitality micro-credentials. The discussion will explore what is needed for micro-credentials to move from project pilots towards credible, transferable and labour-market-relevant learning opportunities.
